The Goers

I have scared off a few along the way with my movie habits. Sitting at the rail is a must. I have moved many companions to the "right spot." Snacks are all part of the ordeal too. A small amount of popcorn in my refillable bucket is a must. As many movies as I see, I can't fill the bucket or I would have to double up on my other pastime - running. Suckers and Slowpokes are my favorite candy. There has been a patron or two that have had a slowpoke slinging just above their head when it flips out of my hand during a jumpy part of the movie. Below are The Goers, a group I have pretty much trained to sit in the right seat and accept all my snack habits...

Gary
My husband and favorite companion. I have met my match in the movie world. He will see just about anything and often. He will also retrieve stray Slowpokes that I've flung into the aisle during sudden intense moments in a movie. I think his favorite part of the movie is the catnap that he always claims was "just a second."
Favorite movie: The Bourne Identity, Annie Hall

Danelle
My daughter, engaged to Aaron, who is more discerning than I in her movie choices. She wants to be sure she doesn't waste her time with a bad movie. She likes a variety of genres, but unlike myself loves scary, suspenseful and supernatural movies. Look out if we are sitting next to each other! The boys get a little impatient  with all the noise - snacks rolling down the aisle, crinkling wrappers and the 3-course meal Danelle brings out. They claim next time they won't let us sit together in order to spread out the chaos.
Favorite movies: Shawshank Redemption, Goodwill Hunting, Seven

Brandon
My son who has been burned too many times, by us dragging him to bad movies. He's very, very selective with his movies. If he's going to the theater, it must be a blockbuster. I have to be careful what I recommend to him. He tends to hold a grudge if I steer him towards a movie I like and it ends up being a waste of his time.
Favorite movies: Avatar, the Bourne films

Aaron
Soon to be married to Danelle, he is practical, sensible and the planner in their relationship. He is usually "in the know" of what movie to see and what movie to skip. He's a bit more open to give movies a chance, but I'm afraid Danelle might increasingly influence him on my recommendations. Just remember Aaron, I am your future mother-in-law.
Favorite movie: Groundhog Day

Denny
My father, and the complete opposite movie taste of Danelle. We ask if he wants to join us for a movie and he doesn't ask what one, he just wants to know what time. After sitting down, he might ask what movie he's seeing. He still hasn't forgiven Aaron and Danelle for taking him to The Devil Inside. Needless to say, he now asks "what movie" when they ask him to tag along. He likes humorous flicks and loves westerns.
Favorite move: Last of the Mohicans

Cindy
My friend who loves comedies. We have seen some very funny movies together! The first time (of my three) that I saw Bridesmaids was with her. We were cry laughing. I think I've seen the worst movies with her too. We were so stressed when we saw Winter's Bone because it was so depressing. At the time, we thought it was in the Top 3 worst movies we've seen. We've seen some since that have usurped it. The Sessions ring a bell.
Favorite movies: Hitch, While You Were Sleeping

Lynne
My friend who loves to see Oscar-quality movies. She likes to see the blockbusters with her family because those are the ones she can drag them to. We like to sneak in the offbeat and award contenders. When Oscar nominations come out, our goal is to see all the movies before awards night. Her second favorite movie is about Notre Dame. We'll let it slide (as both of us are University of Michigan fans) because she likes the movie for its example of passion and perseverance.
Favorite movies: Miracle on 34th Street (with Maureen O'Hara), Rudy
